Install and open
Enable Realms Cartography in your world, then press G or use its button in Game Settings. G toggles your own atlas; the GM can use Shift+G to open or dismiss it for everyone. Both shortcuts can be changed in Configure Controls.
Explore the atlas
Search for a place, road, or terrain feature, then select a result or crystal marker. Drag to pan and scroll to zoom. Right-drag or Shift-drag to tilt and orbit. Click the map before using WASD to pan. Overview resets the view; Find party centers your party and Follow party tracks its movement.
Location panels show atlas reference information or a linked campaign journal, respecting Foundry document permissions. The GM can add discoveries and attach existing journal UUIDs. Campaign notes are shared with viewers: keep private GM notes in restricted journals.
Plan a journey
Add destinations using + Journey stop or right-click a location. Review your stops and travel preferences, then choose Depart as the GM. Pause, Resume, and Arrive control the shared journey.
Roads + overland links uses mapped roads where available and visibly marks uncharted connections. Boat and flight options support other travel styles. Review any assumed water crossings with your table. Estimates are approximate campaign tools, not official rules or guarantees of a passable route. Playback does not advance Foundry’s world calendar.
City navigation
Choose City maps, or select Baldur’s Gate and Explore city streets. Set a start, destination, and intermediate stops. Adjust walking pace, crowds, and gate closures, then save a shared city plan as GM. City planning is separate from the regional party journey.
Atlas journals
The active GM creates the atlas reference journal on startup. Refresh atlas journals in module settings creates missing pages and updates untouched generated entries while preserving player or GM edits. Existing journal permissions are preserved.
Coverage
The atlas indexes 1,087 locations. Of these, 836 have resolved article references; 251 remain marked as pending research. Road and terrain coverage is approximate and incomplete. The Baldur’s Gate pilot includes 34 destinations and 53 traced street sections.
