Public operations are limited to ground-level offices; deeper corridors are defended by stone golems, flooded channels patrolled by water elementals, and magical wards. Rakath Glitterbeard (a gold dwarf) runs it and is both treasurer of the Honorable Order of Moneylenders and rumored Steeps Guild kingpin, making the Counting House a nexus of legitimate finance and shadow storage for questionable treasures.
